Reiki Training

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-near) energy healing practice that supports balance in the body, mind, and nervous system. The word Reiki comes from Japanese terms meaning universal and life energy.

Rather than manipulating or forcing change, Reiki works by encouraging the body’s natural ability to restore harmony. Many people experience deep relaxation, emotional ease, and a greater sense of clarity during or after a session.

Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and does not replace medical care.

Roots of Reiki

Reiki was formalized in Japan in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui. Traditionally, Reiki was practiced as a spiritual discipline focused on self-healing, ethical living, and mindful awareness. Healing others was seen as an extension of one’s own personal practice.

Reiki is passed through attunements, which support the practitioner’s ability to work with energy intentionally and safely.

Who Reiki Is For

Reiki is accessible to people of all backgrounds and does not require prior experience, belief systems, or physical ability.

Reiki is commonly used by:

  • Yoga and meditation practitioners

  • Wellness professionals and caregivers

  • Artists and creatives

  • Parents and families

  • Individuals seeking stress relief or emotional balance

Reiki in Everyday Life

In daily life, Reiki can be used for:

  • Self-care and nervous system regulation

  • Emotional grounding and stress support

  • Enhancing rest, recovery, and sleep

  • Supporting mindfulness and intention

  • Creating calm before or after movement, work, or caregiving

Some people choose to practice Reiki professionally, while others use it as a personal tool for balance and self-awareness.

Reiki as a Practice

At its core, Reiki is about presence, intention, and listening. Whether used occasionally or as a lifelong path, Reiki offers a simple, supportive way to reconnect with the body and cultivate inner steadiness.
